With less than two months to go for the SBI Clerk exam 2021, It is the best time to kick start your preparation.

Section-wise preparation strategy:

SBI clerk prelims paper essentially has 3 separate papers
>> Numerical Ability
>> English Language
>> Reasoning Ability
of 20 minutes each.

Making the most of these 60 minutes and attempting the maximum number of questions with good accuracy is what will decide your fate in the examination

1. Numerical Ability
  • In simplification, some of the most common topics are surds and powers, ratios, percentages, and the first step would be to clear your basics and then move on to the next stage of practice questions.
  • In the Number series, It is advisable to memories all squares up to 30 and cubes up to 30, which will make it easier to identify the series at the first glance.
  • Some recurring question types in Data Interpretation are tables, bar graphs, line graphs, and pie charts. Make sure to practice at least questions of each type.
  • Quadratic Equations would again require you to be strong in tables, HCF, quick calculation techniques, etc. Practice and quick tricks would take you through.
  • Miscellaneous questions on averages, percentages, profit & loss, time, speed & distance, etc require you to be strong with their basic formulae and practice a few questions on a daily basis.
2. English Langauge
  • Strictly stick to what is given in the passage and assume nothing else. Do not make any assumptions whatsoever.
  • The best way to balance speed and accuracy is via practicing multiple mock tests. Mock tests not only condition you for the real-time exam but also help you analyze your areas of strength and weaknesses.
  • RC passages range from a variety of topics such as Philosophy, Psychology, Economics, Politics, etc. Hence, It is important that we establish a level of comfort with all such genres.
  • A major problem while solving RC questions is that candidates read to understand only what the statements say, whereas the questions demand ur understanding of the writer's/author's perspective as well.
  • Vocabulary is tested both directly and indirectly in the exam. Hence, make sure you add at least 10 new words every day.
3. Reasoning Ability
  • Inequality is one of the scoring sections; practicing a good number of questions from this topic will help you improve both speed and accuracy
  • Reverse syllogism is a new pattern introduced in this topic. Practice all question types to master this topic.
  • The key to solving Alphanumerical/ Number/Alphabet Series is a good observation skill that can only be developed through practice and clear concepts.
  • Some of the important questions in seating Arrangement & puzzles are floor-based, calendar-related, scheduling, and comparison-based puzzles.
  • A technique that many people find useful in solving the Blood relation questions is to apply the questions to oneself and solve accordingly.
  • Learn the concepts of directions, CardinalDirections, Sunrise, Sunset, etc, and try to solve these questions verbally. Always draw a sketch.
